Spreadsheets are my game, but being a Dad brings me fame.
What I do:
I typically start my day by reading emails, checking my calendar, but after that there is no typical day. There’ll be days where I’m deep in the trenches of a complex Excel workbook or researching a newly issued hot accounting standard, while other days might entail meeting clients or solving a plethora of business challenges.
How I do it:
The first step in being a trusted advisor for my clients is to have 100% clarity and understanding for their unique and varied business needs. Only with this clear understanding can I offer them top level professional service and the best possible outcomes.
Why I do it:
I think a lot of people have the stereotypical mindset that accounting is boring and it only involves taxes and a bunch of numbers. This couldn’t be further from the truth. There is never a dull moment in public accounting. I love solving puzzles, and my profession satisfies this Rubik’s Cube like no other one thing could.
My life outside of vT accounting:
When I’m not at work, I love traveling and camping with my family, date nights with my beautiful wife, backpacking in the Sierras, working out with my CrossFit friends, playing the piano, and dreaming of retirement on a sunny golf course.
